PRi HYDRO COAT
PRiBOND’S PRi Hydro Coat is one pack, flexible, cement-based capillary waterproofing with carbonation inhibiting properties. It adheres to all types of surface which provides a solution to leakage, seepage or ingress of water / moisture in concrete by sealing capillaries and shrinkage cracks in both positive and negative side of the structure. PRi Hydro coat penetrates into pores of substrate by capillary action and is channelled to the lower depths of concrete by inherent moisture therein, including those occurring even in the smallest pores and capillaries. PRi Hydro Coat reacts with moisture and creates a continuous barrier of insoluble minerals as the product consists of high strength binders, selected silicon / quartz mineral charges with synthetic fibres and specific additives. The capillaries are permanently blocked to the passage of water. However, vapour may pass through allowing structure to breathe. Rate and penetration of minerals depends on presence of moisture, free lime and density of concrete.
Polymer Based, Powdered, Single Pack, Waterproofing system with Anti
Carbonation Inhibiting Properties
COVERAGE:
Horizontal : 1.4 – 1.6 Kg / m per brush coat
Vertical : 0.7 – 0.8 Kg / m per brush coat
PACKING:
20 Kg Bag.
SHELF LIFE & STORAGE:
12 months in original unopened sealed condition.
- Water retaining structures and containment walls.
- Walls & Floors of bathroom and toilets or places where there is a lot of moisture before the laying of ceramic wall tiles.
- Basements, tunnels, machine pits, reservoirs, concrete walls, terraces, balconies, prior to fixing ceramic tiles particularly suitable for raised floors.
- Restoring the waterproofing properties to old terraces without demolishing the existing floor surface.
- Levelling cracked plaster or concrete.
- Becomes an integral part of the concrete structures instead of merely being a surface coating or membrane that can damage or delaminate.
- Can be used on all type of substrates
- Does not require special protection during back filling, placement of reinforcement or other procedures necessary to protect a surface type waterproofing systems.
- Penetrates deep into the capillary tracts and shrinkage cracks and can seal both positive and negative side of concrete structure.
- Protects against water borne corrosive chemicals that can cause corrosion of reinforcement.
- Non-reacted chemicals remain active and will react in contact with water providing additional protection against leakage.
- With stand high and low temperature
- Vapour permeability.
- Very flexible.
- Does not age.
- Ensure that structure is sound and free from dirt, soil, oil release agents, laitance and any other foreign materials which may impair the bond, penetration and/ or the overall performance of Hydro Coat.
- In case of smooth concrete surface, the surface should be water cleaned / sand blasted or acid etched to ensure that the concrete surface has an open capillary system.
- Ensure to fill cracks / honeycombs / holes / faulty construction joints with PRi Crack Filler and allow it to touch dry.
- Add 4 – 4.5 Ltrs of water with 10 Kgs of PRi Hydro Coat, stir the mix thoroughly to form slurry and apply, in specified quantities, by stiff bristle brush or squeegee. Ensure to prepare only as much amount of slurry as can be applied during its pot time i.e. 20 minutes. (can add or reduce water as per the site conditions)
- Ensure the desired thickness in each coat of application.
- For horizontal surface apply in one coat while for vertical surface apply in two coats. Apply second coat when first coat is touchdry. Glass fibre mesh can be used as a sandwich between the layers of coat as reinforcement system which ensures tight bonding to restrain from the hydrostatic pressure.
- Light spray of water may be required between coats in hot/ dry climates.
- In extreme hot weather and very low humidity conditions, ensure curing as soon as the PRi Hydro Coat coating has hardened sufficiently.
- After 36 – 48 hours of the application of 2 coats ponding can be done to the satisfaction of the engineer for the final testing of waterproofing. Recommended for 3 to 4 days.
- Do not use any type of chemical or solvent for the dilution or making the slurry of Hydro Coat.
- Only potable water is recommended for the best of the result.
